About Us Six women devoted to saving the lives of female alcoholics founded North County Serenity House in 1966 with the opening of a home in Poway, CA. In 1972 the program moved to a small home in Escondido. Growing need for residential, and drug abuse services led to the expansion of 27 beds at our flagship site. Since 1990 NCSH has grown tremendously, adding, 4 homes for women and children, services for homeless women, a 140-bed residential facility, 2 child development centers, a Learning Center, and administrative offices. In 2007, NCSH finished building Serenity Village, which helps meet the area’s need for affordable transitional housing through its 48 beds for women in recovery and their children. In 2009, North County Serenity House was proud to open Serenity Friendship House, a permanent sober-living housing facility for women. Contact Us
